Memories
Adhis aka Mama Jamie aka Jane

Aluoch was my house mate for two years. During that time we never once disagreed over anything.

What I remeber her for was the way she organised all my stuff from the kitchen, sitting room to the bedrooms. The order Archie set for my warddrobe has never been martched. I have tried to arrange my clothes the way she did but it has never worked out.

She also had the ability for flower arrangement and I would buy flowers put them in a vase thinking I had excelled. She would come in rearrange one or two of them and just give the whole thing a much better arrangement.

Today when am feeling so unfogiving I will try to emulate you and let by gone be bygones in your memory.

Rest nyako...............

Even though time goes by so fast, the loved ones though departed from us in flesh will always remain in our thoughts and spirit. As dear friends, please let it be known that we always have you in our thoughts and more so as you remember your dear beloved sister-Rose.
Liz Oloo aka Tash

Rose, aka Archie aka Potato, was a gentle soul, who like a warm summer breeze, blew into our lives, soft whispers, gentle caresses, soft feather kisses, and then gone.  You remember the warmth, wishing you could hold it closely in your arms never to let it go, but alas, who has ever contained the wind?  And like the wind, she also had a quiet strength, and dignity.  To family and friends she was the counselor, the comforter, the mediator.

One trait I truly admired her for was her capacity for kindness and forgiveness.  I never heard her say an unkind word about anyone.  I never heard anyone say an unkind word about her.  Those close to her sought her out.  She remembered birthdays, anniversaries, was quick to send the thank you card, or pickup the phone to see how a sick friend was doing.  She would go out of her way, even when she herself was unwell; to try to nurse those she felt needed it more.  She loved children, and spoiled them unashamedly with gifts and goodies.  They in turn must have recognized the gentleness in her and would be around her for hours, behaving themselves like they would not for any other adult!  She loved plants and talked to them.  She loved dancing, but in her shyness, would only do so among family members.  Those who knew her also got to know her wacky sense of humor – she loved the pink panther movies with Peter Sellers; Jack Nicholson, and Robin Williams.  She thought George Bush was ‘too much’.  The movie Ten Commandments movie with Yul Bryner and Carlton Heston was one of her all time favorites, as was the Sound of Music.

One of her trademarks was her remarkable neatness and cleanliness.  I would spend hours cleaning and straightening up, and one would see no big difference.  Rose would come and pull this, straighten that, ran her hand through this, move that and the place would literally shine.  Her clothes were spotless and she always dressed like a lady.

Rose struggled all her life with one form of illness or the other, and more so later in life.  At some point she gave up on life and thought it was too hard to live, but I’m happy to say she turned to God and prayed a lot during the last months.  Through all this, she never once complained.  You may think this is an exaggeration, but she never truly did.  She would apologize to everyone for being such a burden and thank them for helping her.  And even when she was sick, she’d try to help others, give advice, comfort…
